Timeline

In just 11 quarters, Nordic Alpha and Spirii's management converted the largest logistics platforms in the world.

Early Engagement & Strategic Shift (2020-2021)

Nordic Alpha Partners identified Spirii as a high-growth disruptor in the eMobility charging sector and engaged with the company six months before investment. During this period, NAP facilitated a fundamental strategy shift from a turnkey charge point operator (CPO) to a scalable Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) model. This move positioned Spirii as a global software leader rather than just a hardware provider.

Investment & Strategic Acceleration (2021)

NAP officially invested at an €8M pre-money valuation, structuring terms that supported aggressive international scaling. Immediately post-investment, NAP deployed SWAT specialists, including a PaaS-focused Chief Sales Officer (CSO) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO), to drive execution of the new strategy. The team also launched a three-phase international expansion model, securing major European utility contracts within the first year.

Hypergrowth & Market Expansion (2022-2023)

NAP’s strategy delivered rapid commercial traction. Spirii expanded into 19 countries, securing over 30 CPO customers and 35 roaming partners. The company became a market leader in Denmark, with 23,000 chargers installed and over 1,000 DC fast chargers deployed worldwide. Additionally, Spirii pioneered into Frequency Containment Reserve (FCR), generating €5M ARR by leveraging grid-balancing capabilities.

Exit to Edenred & Value Peak Realization (2024)

Following a four-phase exit process initiated by NAP in early 2023, Spirii was acquired by Edenred, a CAC 40 firm, in February 2024. The exit delivered a strong return, reflecting Spirii’s transformation into a dominant eMobility platform leader.

BCSA Model

A selection of our most important tool and models we use in our daily work.

Better

Spirii’s Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) model enables seamless integration across different charging networks, making it vendor-agnostic and more flexible than traditional turnkey charge point operators. Its real-time grid balancing capabilities provide an additional revenue stream, optimizing both charging efficiency and energy costs.

Cheaper

By shifting from a hardware-focused model to a software-driven approach, Spirii reduces the capital intensity of scaling. The PaaS structure allows customers to minimize upfront investment while benefiting from automated energy management that lowers operational costs over time.

Simpler

Spirii offers a plug-and-play charging solution with a fully digital user interface, eliminating the need for complex hardware integrations. Its automated billing and energy distribution make it easy for businesses, fleet operators, and municipalities to manage large-scale EV charging networks without operational friction.

Available

With a rapidly expanding network across 19 countries, Spirii is one of the fastest-growing EV charging platforms in Europe. Its cloud-based solution ensures instant scalability, and its roaming agreements with 350,000 charge points provide widespread coverage for seamless user access.
